Stephen Brooks Equine Veterinary practice has been running for many years now and we have built a solid reputation for excellent quality service.

The Practice was started in 1999 by Stephen Brooks himself and is now a 3 vet 100% Equine Ambulatory practice covering Surrey, Sussex and Kent.  We are dedicated to providing our clients with a high quality level of veterinary care at their own premises or livery yard.  Our veterinarians keep up to date with the latestet developments in the equine veterinary field by regularly attending conferences and training days.  Recently our vets have attended courses/talks in Artificial Insemmination updates, Stallion semen evaluation and reproductive management, Safer horse rescues and Equine metablic diseases.  As well as attending the annual British Equine Veterinary Association (BEVA) conference.

  • Up to date Portable diagnostic equipment allowing in depth lameness and medicine workups "on the yard". 
    • Digital radiographs via DR system for instant analysis of the radiographs at your premises. 
    • Portable ultrasound scanners, one dedicated for mare reproductive work and the other with both a tendon probe and a probe for abdominal/cardiac examination. 
    • Portable endoscope to allow examination of the upper airways and to perform diagnostic tests such as trans-tracheal washes for investigation of persistent respiratory problems.
  • In house laboratory to allow quick analysis of blood samples and emergency after hours blood tests.
  • Experienced stud vets providing everything from routine scanning to more advanced AI and embryo transfer techniques.  Please see our Reproduction page for further details.
  • External specialists - we work closely with several specialists and can organise for specialist opthalmic examinations and more advanced diagnostics such as gastroscopes etc to be performed by a specialist consultant at your premises.
  • Pre Purchase exams (Vettings) - we carry out many vettings each year and all our vets are experienced in this area and can carry out 2 stage and 5 stage examinations.  Please see our vettings page for further details
